Political Action

Political action and advocacy is accomplished with a full time staff which lobbies legislation affecting the industry and organizes "grass roots" lobbying of senators by the membership on important legislative issues.
The NSHBA PAC assists candidates on the State and Local level who are pro-housing candidates and support the industry.
We also encourage members to become candidates for public office or to serve on appointed boards and commissions. NSHBA monitors local issues across the state and acts as a clearinghouse of information to address emerging issues.

Industry Issues

NAHB is the leading voice for the housing industry on the wide range of issues that impact home building. Advocating for reform to control skyrocketing compliance costs that stifle businesses and harm consumers. Advocating for home building incentives in the tax code, including the Low Income Housing Tax Credit and opportunity zones. Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all construction workers with resources for employers and employees. Protecting our natural resources and promoting economic growth with regulatory certainty.
Your Home Builders Association membership and BUILD-PAC contributions support these NAHB's efforts.

NAHB works with members of Congress and federal agencies to help ensure the priorities of remodelers are addressed in federal legislation and regulations. Our successful efforts in mobilizing grassroots efforts on key issues, building successful coalitions, and educating national leaders are evident in tax credit law and regulatory actions that positively impact and protect remodeling businesses throughout the country.

Elections matter and have a lasting impact. That’s why it is so important for NAHB members to be engaged in the political process every step of the way.

BUILD-PAC, NAHB’s bipartisan political arm, helps elect pro-housing, pro-business candidates to federal office and is critical to NAHB’s success on Capitol Hill.

NSHBA PAC

In recent years governmental laws and regulations have been a primary factor in increasing the cost of housing in Nebraska. Many Nebraskans have been priced out of the American dream of owning a new home, which is one the most powerful wealth producing tools a family has to secure their future.
